Exams starting in 6days..
Not much effective revision is done. Been sleeping a lot over the long weekends..argh..needa charge up my battery n jiayou!
Especially my it management modules..did pretty badly for my assignments..argh..
Data comms modules are slightly better, still close book exams are killers..
Especially after soooo long without exams stress..argh!
Now I need a lot a lot of good luck n motivation to score in my papers. Jiayou Weiling!

When I was a kid, my mom liked to make breakfast food for dinner

every now & then & I remember one night in particular when she had

made breakfast after a long, hard day at work. On that evening
so long ago, my mom placed a plate of eggs, sausage,
and extremely burned biscuits in front of my dad. I remember waiting
to see if anyone noticed!
Yet all my dad did was reach for his biscuit, smile at my mom
and ask me how my day was at school.

I don 't remember what I told him that night, but I do remember hearing
my mom apologize to my dad
for burning the biscuits. And I'll never forget what he said:
"Honey, I love burned biscuits."

Later that night, I went to kiss Daddy good night and I asked him
if he really liked his biscuits burned.
He wrapped me in his arms and said,
"Your momma put in a long hard day at work today and she's real tired.
And besides... A burnt biscuit never hurt anyone!"

You know, life is full of imperfect things... And imperfect people.
I'm not the best at hardly anything,
and I forget birthdays and anniversaries just like everyone else.
What I've learned over the years is that learning to accept each others
faults and choosing to celebrate
each other's differences, is one of the most important keys
to creating a healthy, growing, and lasting relationship.

So...please pass me a biscuit. And yes, the burned one will do just fine!
And please pass this along to someone
who has enriched your life...I just did!

Life is too short to wake up with regrets... Love the people who treat you right
and forget about the ones who don 't.

Caught a movie with NUS colleagues.. Lotsa laughter..nice foods..beside the many minor accidents, it is still a great day..lol..

I could have totally gotten over all of them..Also now, i could no longer picture myself in a steady relationship..lol..
Wondering would i start anything with a nice guy or im gonna stay the same status as the time goes by..

my new pair of old looking shoes

Happily bought a new pair of shoes from cineleisure's Leftfoot.It was a display set..i didnt think further n paid for it as i liked the design n it comes with 30% discount.
It was a dissapointment after i got home,i could see the difference between the display (left side) n the one that was kept in the box..
the left side looked kinda dirty n older looking as compared to the right side. haiz n i couldnt find the receipt..only the charge slip..
Is that the price for being too trusting n buying from a shop that does not have adequte lighting for customers to check the purchase??
(Bought my shoes in the evening, those who has been to the shop should understand this point about their lighting)
Or i should not have even bought a display set in the 1st place?

TIRED...

Other than this, easily irritable..
Guess it a result of tiredness...

Alot of work is piling on my desk...
1 colleague leaving and i got a share of her portfolio..

Wondering is it that my body is feeling the stress..
Always have signs of sickness...
Not full blown type..but just those mild mild ones, which u feel its not wrong but it's not severe enough to get an MC..
Starting on multi-vit into my daily routine, hopefully that will boost my immunity..

Hopefully things will improve..
coz all the handovers happening this week..
Hopefully things will improve as days goes by..

A nice day spent with friends =)

Went to Expo to check out an emo friend..
She had some problems with the vendor which she is sharing her booth with..
Hopefully my presence does brighten up her day..

Just a simple game of badminton and a dinner with friends is quite a great thing =)
Guess it is easier to build rapport with ppl you know..it is a very personally thing..Probably this group of friends are the ones I wanna keep, that's why..

Received a special call from a long lost friend, or should i say a bro..
Great to hear that he is doing well and married too!! =)

Too many great emotions which cannot describe with words..
How I wished someone could invent a emotions camera, which captures your internal emotions...

1st time baking chocolate souffle..its a nice dessert..abit too rich for me..but its very nice!(not the one I backed..but the chef's one..lol) :)
1st time decorating a chocolate cake..looks quite ok..but wondering how it taste? The cake is abit hard after removing from the oven:( but at least it looked presentable after decorating :)

Like:
Always wanted to find a man u truly love. Finally, u found him but found out that he's attached/married?

Always wanted to find a job which is near ur workplace,has great colleagues, able to learn alot of things. U found it, but found out that it is not really what u wanted at this point of time..

Need to learn to take things easy..learn to let go of things that u can't get ur hands on..

Why dont u take her out,groom her for the next election? paying her the amt isnt that big issue..the bigger issue is,is that the quality of young leaders u have chosen for us?
You may have done a great job in the past, will u still be able to do so in the future? Your choice in her shaken my belief in your direction for our future. She is not ready to face the people yet. Creating negative impact is not the way to lead.
I do have to agree that introducing young people to lead is a good way to engage youngsters to have a better sense of belonging, but she is not the one for the job. Just look at the other one who is younger. The reality speaks for itself who is in the better position.
We need capable people to lead.
It maybe harsh to take her out,but we are not playing a game,u failed u can restart. Once u lost the trust, it takes quite a long while to get it back. Unless u are fine with this.
Leadership positions are for people who has the leadership qualities and ability to convince people without the use of force. Giving them the authority will unleash their potential. It is not a place for people to lead and learn leadership from scratch at the expense of others.
Anyway, if u insisted on defending,please make sure she proves herself worthy asap. If not,dont be too shock with the results in 5 years time.
Also, you have been teaching us to learn to accept better individuals into our society as it benefits us. Please be acceptive to the new blood in your group as well like what you have been teaching us.

A Green Green Lamp for the Environment..

Just saw this lamp from Ikea.. A solar powered lamp.
Will be getting one to use at night while using my lappy.
A green movement which saves electricity and bills too!!
Not only that, for every of these lamps sold in Ikea, Ikea will donate another one to UNICEF.

My latest companion:sketching pencils & colour pencils

Well, this semester, we are going into Multimedia Design Concepts and this module, requires sketching and rendering.

After more than 13years, I am picking them up again: sketching pencils & colour pencils.

Did quite a few read ups on the textbook given, surf on the net..

I must say, Youtube is really a great media for such information.. e.g. the following clip which I came across:
The sketch was done using a software and it was a fantastic pc of art!! OMG, even with my sketching pencils I don't think I am anywhere near to what was done in the vid...

1st Entry for 2011...

More than a month gone and it's the 4th day of CNY!

Time really flies...looking back at the resolutions set for 2010, seems that I managed to accomplished most of it!! LOL..
Here's what was set out in 2010:
1. ~~Start my part time degree course~~ Now in my 2nd sem in UNISIM taking Multimedia Technology =)
2. ~~Learn Korean~~ Completed the elementary classes in CC, can't really speak though, but at least I am trying to keep myself constantly in revision =)
3. ~~Be more regular in keeping fit~~ Been exercising quite regularly on min. fornightly
4. ~~Move on~~ Well I am now in a new job...kinda like it =)
5. Go for a short trip - Be it taking a plane or on cruise - Didn't managed to go for any short trips last year, budget tight...hopefully can go for 1 this year!! _/\_
6. Go for Disney World on Ice!! - Think i gonna postponed again...coz don't feel like going alone..LOL

As for 2011, I haven't really got much to set, except for the following:
1. Achieving min. GPA 4.0 in my studies
2. Going for a trip!!
3. Plan a gathering for family/friends
4. Maintain fitness routine & also maintain my weight!!
One more thing to add...
5. My blogshop -> Need to come with a decision to continue/close down/start a new business plan.

Guess that's all I have for 2011...Jiayou!!

Photography Concepts - Something that I just don't seem to get it right..

After completing 1 semester, 2 modules relating to photography, I must say, photography is just not my thing.

Just managed to pass the 1st photography module and the 1st 2 assignments of the 2nd modules, results are not fantastic.

(The final assignment for the 2nd module, weighing 70% is due in 9 days time, wish me luck k!)

The 2nd module is more on post-production using photoshop, but there are still some photography concepts, which almost caused me to fail.

Out of the 2 assignments in the 2nd module, it's the lab report which I managed to get a slightly better grade. It is to do a post-production on a digital image: Converting the given day image into an evening image.

Let's take a look at what I had done.. Not fantastic, but at least it's something that I had spent effort in doing.

The Outcome: After completing the required steps and some personal enhancement

Sometimes i just wondered, will I be able to survive in the field after my graduation?? I don't seem to have creativity which is vital in this field. Seems that I can only do based on the given result and work my way out. Hmmm..

Whatever it is, I had already enrolled myself in this course, by hook or by crook I need to complete it. Whatever comes in the future, I'll just have to learn to face it. Jiayou!!

3 months later..

By right, today will be my 3rd month in my new job..
But I had tendered my resignation 2 weeks ago, and am enjoying the break now..
(by right I can leave in 1 week's time coz I'm still on probation, but they wanted me to extend another week coz they can't find anyone to take over.)

Alot had happened during my 3months stay in the new co (now becomes ex co)..
The few reasons which triggered the move :
1. Unable to blend into the working culture
2. Can't work with 1 of the management (who seems to be picking on me)
3. I'm too nice for the job (to be in this position one has to be tough and get things through the hard way)

Too bad the good location(just a 10 bus ride from my home!!) can't made me stay for at least another 2+years till I graduate from UniSIM.

So now, I'll be having a 2 week break till my exams end on 15 Nov, after which job searching will start all over again..

This time round need to think about what am I going to do...
Tentative plans: Find some part time to last till next Mar/Apr before looking for a position relating to my field of study..

5 weeks into my new job

Losing my honeymoon period le. didn't managed to leave office on time this whole week. getting more n more things to take care le.
Good or Bad news? Only time will tell.
It's been quite awhile since i last blogged. More frequent posts coming up! Coz i can blog anytime anywhere with my HTC Wildfire! A new phone of about 2 weeks old.
Quite a nice n decent phone. Much better than my previous one. Got the red coloured one n it's really nice! Glad that I've choosen this phone. =)

A sleepless Nite..

Haiz,it's already 2+am le, and i'm still awake.. Had been sleeping alot the past 2 days due to sickness:-( i have yet to recover fm my flu n sore throat and i kenna food poisoning..vomit till i'm too weak to move until my mummy came back from work n accompany me to the clinic..
only after the jab on my buttocks,then the vomiting stops. Now that i'm slightly stronger, my itchy throat is back again! Argh!
why why why!
why so many things happened? Just a week plus ago,my grandma left. Whether or not she'll be united with my grandpa who left in feb,i have no idea. But i do sincerely hoped that she'll be at a better place after suffering for so many years. Not only was she bedridden for more than 10+ years, her life experiences since her younger days wasn't smooth either:-( according to my mum,my grandma suffered quite a few major setbacks in her younger days.
All the sufferings of this lifetime were over,may you rest in peace, grandma.

it's a very nice biscuit all the way fm japan. Every pack is made up of 2 biscuits with white choco filling.those who had tried before would agree with me that it's great! The biscuits sort of melt in your mouth together with e white choco..yummy!

My 1st Korean class officially starts on 10th Apr 10!!
So excited!!
Finally, I began the lesson which I wanted to learn for a long long time...
So far so good, kinda like my new Korean teacher, Mdm Jang.
Seems like a nice lady...but will need more time to verify this sentence again=D keke..

Sometimes we discover more if we are not really clear about our destination...
This is what happened on sat, 10th Apr 10...
Met up with Eeling for a cycling session @ ECP...Current the bicycle rental kiosk is having a promotion: Buy 1 free 1 hr.
Our mountain bikes were just @ $6/bike for 2 hours!! Worth it!!

So we start our journey...
As we go on, we saw the water sports park, skate boarding playground, ECP hawker center, Outward Bounds and we aren't sure where is exactly Bedok Jetty.
And so we kept cycling...until a point whereby, we reach the following area.
That's like 6+km away from Changi Beach park...A Working Sunday Morning..
As for Sunday, it's the 1st time I started a flea market stall, alone @ a void deck near my home. Decided to clear my existing stocks for good. Been in my home for awhile liao..
Although the crowd wasn't good, but I'm glad that I managed to sell some of the stocks, a good sign for me!! =D Kinda happy =D
Hopefully, I'll continue to maintain and clear all my stocks soon!! Jiayou! =D

Hopefully I can make if for the monthly activity @ Blk 407 Pandan Gardens every 2nd Sunday of every month. Looking at the crowd, I guess it's gonna take me at least 6 months to clear my stocks. haha. if the venue is too far, i'll be too lazy to go, unless i've got company =) All the best to me ba!! =D

More than 2 weeks had passed...this is how long my Grandfather left us...
It's another year which I didn't celebrate my bday...
(The last time which I can't celebrate was when my Ah mah left this world...that was my 21st birthday. She left when I was 20.)

This is round, my Grandfather left 2 days before my birthday. =(
Though it's kinda sad, but looking from another point of view, he left without much struggles.
It was a peaceful death for him. So the pain wasn't as bad.

During the days of the wake, it made me think a lot. Sort of made me more mature.
Probably it's the way the wake was held, a peaceful, comfortable form of wake - the Buddhist style, which he requested way before his health worsen.

I felt that I'm blessed. Partially because I've learnt alot from the Dharma. It dawn on me it that he might be the one who planted the good seeds so that majority of his family members became Buddhists.

He maybe gone, but the way in which I felt that he had contributed to a better me will stay. I'll be thankful for what I had.

CLEVER TRICK. BY GETTING YOU TO SHUT DOWN YOUR MOBILE, YOUR WORRIED FAMILY MEMBERS WILL NOT BE ABLE TO CONTACT YOU TO VERIFY YOUR SAFETY!

Just be careful.

Its all started when I received a call from someone claiming that he was
from M1 or Singtel or Starhub and he asked me to shutdown my phone for 2
hours for 3G update to take place. As I was rushing for a meeting, I did
not question him and shutdown my cell phone.

After 45 minutes I felt very suspicious since the caller did not even
introduce his name. I quickly turned on my cell phone and I received
several calls from my family members and the others were from the number
that had called me earlier - 93954380.

I called my parents and I was shocked that they sounded very worried asking
me whether I am safe. My parents told me that they had received a call from
someone claiming that they had me with them and asking for money to let me
free. The call was so real and my parents even heard 'my voice' cryi ng out
loud asking for help. My parent was at the bank waiting for next call to
proceed for money transfer. I told my parents that I am safe and asked them
to lodge a police report.

Right after that I received another call from the guy asking me to shutdown
my cell phone for another 1 hour which I refused to do and hung up. They
keep calling my cell phone until the battery had run down. I myself lodged
a police report and I was informed by the officer that there were many such
scams reported. MOST of the cases reported that the victim had already
transferred the money! And it is impossible to get back the money.

Be careful as this kind of scam might happened to any of us!!! Those guys
are so professional and very convincing during calls. If you are asked to
shut down your cell phone for updates by the service provider, ASK AROUND!
Your family or friends might receive the same call.

6 & 7 Feb 2010 marks the days of my 'Baking First'
- 1st time baking butter cookies
- 1st time baking butter cake
The great thing to note: all I bake from scratch!
From sieving the flour, mixing up all the ingredients to baking, I did all by myself!!

What a great achievement!! *Wahoo!!*
I know to some it might not be a great deal, but to a person who don't cook/bake, it's already a great start!

Last night was at the Singapore Indoor Stadium enjoying a concert by Ah Mit (a.k.a. Ah Mei, Zhang Hui Mei). She is really fantastic!! She has really great vocal & ability to make her audience high! Imagine feeling the vibrations from the live band, 和声 & of course Ah Mit's singing, the feeling is really shiok!! It's just a sad thing that I didnt purchase the most ex tix where I am able to stand up & 'rock' along with the songs without blocking other audiences' viewing pleasure..

Today, just went for to Western Salon to get my hair done: colouring + cut + treatment.
It's been quite a while since I last went to a salon for colouring & treatment services.
Here's my new look!! :-)
Don't think there is much difference from the pic, but if u get to meet up with me, u'll be able to see the difference!

Not only did I get my hair done, I've also bought myself a simple oven to starting my baking 'craze'! So excited to start my 1st baking experience!! Wahoo!!

Tomorrow, there isn't much activity except to meet up those badminton khakis to watch them play. Still gotta rest my back to stabilize the healing... I'm gonna bring the 1/2 王子 comic series to laugh myself off!!:-)

*1/2王子 comics is the 1st comic series which I getting crazy over. Really funny!! Loved the character - 居. He's really a funny guy!! This craze started becoz of Ganye. He himself is a person who reads & collect comics. He introduce 1/2 王子 to me and got me hooked!!

Sometimes I feel lost when plans are disrupted.

Guess that’s one of the reasons why I dislike to cancel plans unless absolute necessary.

Last week went for tuina for my back injury, and I’ve gotta stop playing 2 games of badminton this coming weekend. Gotta rest 2 weeks for the healing to stabilize.

Was so enthusiastic the week before, then now so sianz that the plans have to be changed.

Suddenly feel lost at what should I do? Hmmm…

Have to wait for after CNY before can start playing again. Let’s see what happens then.

It's already 15th Jan!! Time really flies...
Had been wanting to post up my new year resolutions, but always lack of time & motivation...
Today, I shall complete this 1st task of the year!!
List of things which I wanna do/start this year:
1. Start my part time degree course
2. Learn Korean
3. Be more regular in keeping fit (Now I'm quite into badminton, found a few khakis liao..need to maintain!)
4. Move on
5. Go for a short trip - Be it taking a plane or on cruise
6. Go for Disney World on Ice!!

That's all for now..Used to have a longer list..
Guessed had been feeling kinda weird..
Eyes always like bloodshot..feeling pain and irritates me...

Day 4-7 of my "Freeman" Days

I'm in HK these few days.. A great trip with a few things done:
- Visited Disneyland~~!!
- Stayed @ Disneyland Hotel!!
- Got quite a few great mickey accessories for myself =)
- Got a few SS501 CDs *So Happy!*
- Tried out something new in this 2nd trip to HK =)

Took lotsa photos!! Think almost 1k of photos with 2 cameras...
really need lotsa of time to sort them out before posting...

Gotta hit the bed...
Tired le... Hopefully 2moro will be a fulfilling day :-) 明天会更好！！

Day 3 of my "Freeman" Days

Rest time passes by very fast, Day 3 had ended when I was packing for my HK trip..

Didn't have much time to sleep after more than 8 hrs of K-Session...
Woken up after 4 hrs of rest and I'm out of my home to watch "New Moon".
Fell in love with the "The Twilight" series after watching the 1st part, "Twilight" last year.
Guessed not only did I liked the character "Edward Cullen", it's also a fantasy which I can't resist...
My 'encounter' with vampires from the HK Series "My Date with Vampire" series started my liking for vampires. I guessed if there are really vampires in this world, I won't mind falling in love with one. Hahahaha...
Check out the widget I've posted earlier for some highlight of "New Moon"
Personally, I prefer the "Twilight" more than "New Moon". Probably, the focus on the couple was alot more in "Twilight". More vampire actions. "New Moon" is still quite good though. Now looking forward to the 3rd movie of the "Twilight" saga, "Eclipse". Don't think I'll need to wait for another year to see it on the cinemas:-).

After the movies, I went for a window shopping and pop by a CD shop.
This time round I do have quite a few CDs I wanna get. :-)
- Soda Green's latest album
- Yoga Lin's latest album
- SS501, there's quite a few albums by them which I'm thinking of getting. :-)
These will be the presents I get for myself for: X'mas, V-day & Bday! ;-)

As of 9pm, I've yet to pack the stuffs for my HK trip. It'll my 2nd time there. If not for the winter Disneyland, I won't be going back there so soon. Though this time round my budget is tighter, hopefully, I can still have a great time there!! Especially when I'll be able to see my all time fav, Mickey!! Wahoo!!

It's time for bed...need to have lotsa energy for my trip!! :-)

today is an activity-filled day. :-) went for shopping at Vivocity from 12.30pm. Though i didn't manage to get see my beloved mickey mouse,but it's ok..i'll get to take photos with him de.:-)
After a quick bite from subway,off we go for 2012 at The Cathay.
2012 is quite an exciting movie to watch. I was so immersed into the movie that my emotions were going roller coaster along with the main characters.
Dinner is Fish n Chips @ Paragon. Follow by k-session at Cineleisure.
I'm still at kbox inside Cineleisure:-)

Day 1 of my "Freeman" Days

Finally, I'm taking a block leave to rest...
It's been really tiring for the past few months...
Non-Stop of 'actions' going on after one another...
So tired out that sometimes I really can't concentrate/lost focus...

Today, 5th Dec 09, is the 1st day of my block rest day..
Will be meeting up ex-colleagues from my 1st full time job for lunch...
As for the rest of the days (another 8 more days), besides the full day activity on Day 2 and a HK trip from Day 4 - Day 7, the rest are all pending activities.

Really looking forward to Day 2, shopping, movie, k-session...wahoo!!
A great time to unleash all the tense up emotions held within!!! :-)

Meanwhile need to have a good rest now, so that I can slowly recover to my 'pre-hectic' days.
Let the sun, shine again!!
Let, feelings of lost, lose focus, fustrations, & other negative emotions be gone!! :-)

I've got alot of things to do...yet I'm not doing...
Don't know where to start??
I wondered why I can still have time for Facebook? where I can use the time to settle some of the event stuffs??
The only reason I can think of now is...Brain drained...
Maybe playing Facebook out of this busy times is an indication that my brain needs rest...
thus is using 'play' to 'not to think of other things'...
In fact it's kinda true that I'm just basically clicking in momentum...not much thinking involved...
What makes the whole thing worst is that I'm still sick...
It's been like 2 weeks liaoz...
Another weird thing...I dont know why I'm not seeing a doc again after a week when i didn't recover...
I feel like a zombie..maybe more like a ghost...
Just floating hoping to cling onto something to settle down and rest...
Hard of listening too..."Go to sleep" seems to be a taboo word for the brain...
It's not entering in...Look at the time I'm still awake...
What have I gotten myself into??
Ego..think too much..arrogance..forcing myself to be strong..-> things contributed to this distress state. I'm not doing things right that's why I feeling the negative effects...If I'm doing the right things, I should be feeling happy or at least positive rite!

Time really flies, it's been 1+ mths since I'm back from BKK!! OMG!!

Breathing Therapy

The nose has a left and a right side; we use both to inhale and exhale..

Actually they are different; you would be able to feel the difference.
The right side represents the sun, left side represents the moon.
During a headache, try to close your right nose and use your left nose to breathe.

In about 5 mins, your headache will go?

If you feel tired, just reverse, close your left nose and breathe through your right nose.
After a while, you will feel your mind is refreshed.

Right side belongs to 'hot', so it gets heated up easily, left side belongs to 'cold'.

Most females breathe with their left noses, so they get "cooled off" faster.

Most of the guys breathe with their right noses, they get worked up.

Do you notice the moment we wake up, which side breathes faster? Left or right? ?

If left is faster, you will feel tired.
So, close your left nose and use your right nose for breathing, you will get refreshed quickly.

This can be taught to kids, but it is more effective when practiced by adults.

My friend used to have bad headaches and was always visiting the doctor

There was this period when he suffered headache literally every night, unable to study.

He took painkillers, did not work.

He decided to try out the breathing therapy here: closed his right nose and breathed through his left nose.

In less than a week, his headaches were gone! He continued the exercise for one month.

This alternative natural therapy without medication is something that he has experienced.

So, why not give it a try?

Had a great shopping trip @ BKK~!
Though super tired(slept for 12 hrs after I got home!), but still feel happy.

Although it seems that I've gotta alot of things, but after unpacking, I'm still shortage of quite a no. of things!!
Especially my SS501 CD!!
All Sold out!! After checking with at least 6 CD shops in BKK... sob sob...

Though didn't managed to complete all the purchases I've set out to get before the trip, I did managed to get a few nice items I liked.

Boys Before Flowers is actually the Korean Version of 流星花园.

This is the 3rd TV version of the popular manga.

I've already finished watching BBF a month back... :-)
(Just imagine that I've 'chiong' all the 25 episodes in 5 days!)

Well I love this version more as the Koreans have put quite a fair bit of focus on the character I liked-Rui (Korean version is named as Yoon Ji Hoo by Kim Hyun Joong of SS501).

*Note: I've only watched the TW & KR version
Yoon Ji Hoo is many women's dream guy(and I'm 1 of them)
You need to watch it to get the feel. *this opinion is only applicable to "有心人士"*

Especially true as the show progresses. *OMG..so sweet, so sad, so heartache.*

Catch it for those who have not.
It's really a great show!! With really beautiful scenery.

The whole show just feel so dreamy.
Although it's not very practical to be overly indulge in tv serials, but it does not harm to drift from the reality for a while rite!!

There's quite a few nice Korean songs used in the show.
My fav in the show is "Because I'm Stupid" (don't know why can put up the Korean Song Name)..
It's by a Korean Boyband: SS501 (Kim Hyun Joong's is the leader of the boyband)

Combatting my worst illness to date!!

OMG!!

Had been feeling sickly since the PC Show ended last weekend.

1st, throat was feeling itchy..

Then it progress to slight sore throat...

After awhile, my whole body is aching and felt that I'm being burnt by the fire.

Den comes the cough...it's those so called dry cough...

Den the 'tap' sort of loosen too!!

Argh...

Got panicked!! seems that the symptoms of H1N1 flu..OMG!!

Den went to see the doc..

I was given more than 6 different kinds of medicines!!OMG!!

That's my highest record!!

Luckily, the fever, the aches, watery 'tap' kinda recovered after taking the medicine..

So now i'm feeling alot better liao..:-) Keke

Well pals, take care yar!! Drink more water and have plenty of rest!!

Off to bed...

Someone forwarded me this email which is worth reading.. It's quite true for me for most of the things.. you'll tend to see alot of things in a bigger picture as you get older. That's the great thing I loved about aging. :-)

The Awakening:
A time comes in your life when you finally get it when in the midst of all your fears and insanity you stop dead in your tracks and somewhere the voice inside your head cries out ENOUGH! fighting and crying or struggling to hold on.

And, like a child quieting down after a blind tantrum, your sobs begin to subside, you shudder once or twice, you blink back your tears and through a mantle of wet lashes you begin to look at the world through new eyes.

This is your Awakening.

You realize it’s time to stop hoping and waiting for something to change or for happiness, safety and security to come galloping over the next horizon. You come to terms with the fact that he is not Prince Charming and you are not Cinderella and in the real world there aren’t always Fairy Tale endings (or beginnings for that matter) and that any guarantee of “happily ever after” must begin with you and in the process a sense of serenity is born of acceptance.

You awaken to the fact you are not perfect and not everyone will always love, appreciate or approve of who or what you are and that’s OK. (They are entitled to their own views and opinions.) And you learn the importance of loving and championing yourself and in the process a sense of new found confidence is born of self approval.

You stop complaining and blaming other people for the things they did to you (or didn’t do for you) and you learn that the only thing you can really count on is the unexpected. You learn people don’t always say what they mean or mean what they say and not everyone will always be there for you and that it’s not always about you. So, you learn to stand on your own and to take care of yourself and in the process a sense of safety and security is born of self-reliance. You stop judging and pointing fingers and you begin to accept people as they are, and to overlook their shortcomings and human frailties, and in the process a sense of peace and contentment is born of forgiveness.

You realize that much of the way you view yourself, and the world around you, is as a result of all the messages and opinions that have been ingrained into your psyche. And you begin to sift through all the things you’ve been fed about how you should behave, how you should look, and how much you should weigh, what you should wear, and where you should shop, and what you should drive, how and where you should live, and what you should do for a living, who you should sleep with, who you should marry, and what you should expect of a marriage, the importance of having and raising children or what you owe your parents.

You learn to open up to new worlds and different points of view. And you begin reassessing and redefining who you are what you really stand for. You learn the difference between wanting and needing and you begin to discard the doctrines and values you’ve outgrown, or should never have bought into to begin with, and in the process you learn to go with your instincts.

You learn it is truly in giving that we receive. And there is power and glory in creating and contributing and you stop maneuvering through life merely as a “consumer” looking for your next fix.

You learn principles such as honesty and integrity are not the outdated ideals of a by-gone era but the mortar that holds together the foundation upon which you must build a life.You learn you don’t know everything, it’s not your job to save the world and you can’t teach a pig to sing. You learn to distinguish between guilt and responsibility and the importance of setting boundaries and learning to say NO. You learn the only cross to bear is the one you choose to carry and that martyrs get burned at the stake.

Then you learn about love. Romantic love and familial love. How to love, how much to give in love, when to stop giving and when to walk away. You learn not to project your needs or your feelings onto a relationship. You learn you will not be more beautiful, more intelligent, more lovable or important because of the man or woman on your arm or the child that bears your name. You learn to look at relationships as they really are and not as you would have them be. You stop trying to control people, situations and outcomes. You learn just as people grow and change so it is with love and you learn you don’t have the right to demand love on your terms just to make you happy.

You learn that alone does not mean lonely. And you look in the mirror and come to terms with the fact you will never be a size 5 or a perfect 10 and you stop trying to compete with the image inside your head and agonizing over how you “stack up.”

You also stop working so hard at putting your feelings aside, smoothing things over and ignoring your needs. You learn feelings of entitlement are perfectly OK and that it is your right to want things and to ask for the things that you want and that sometimes it is necessary to make demands.

You come to the realization you deserve to be treated with love, kindness, sensitivity and respect and you won’t settle for less. And, you allow only the hands of a lover who cherishes you to glorify you with her or his touch and in the process you internalize the meaning of self-respect. And you learn your body really is your temple. And you begin to care for it and treat it with respect.

You begin eating a balanced diet, drinking more water and taking more time to exercise. You learn fatigue diminishes the spirit and can create doubt and fear. So you take more time to rest. And, just as food fuels the body, laughter fuels our soul. So you take more time to laugh and to play.

You learn, that for the most part, in life you get what you believe you deserve and that much of life truly is a self-fulfilling prophecy. You learn anything worth achieving is worth working for and wishing for something to happen is different from working toward making it happen. More importantly, you learn in order to achieve success you need direction, discipline and perseverance. You also learn no one can do it all alone and that it’s OK to risk asking for help.

You learn the only thing you must truly fear is the great robber baron of all time FEAR itself. You learn to step right into and through your fears because you know whatever happens you can handle it and to give in to fear is to give away the right to live life on your terms. And you learn to fight for your life and not to squander it living under a cloud of impending doom.

You learn life isn’t always fair, you don’t always get what you think you deserve and sometimes bad things happen to unsuspecting, good people. On these occasions you learn not to personalize things. You learn no one is punishing you or failing to answer your prayers. It’s just life happening. And you learn to deal with evil in its most primal state the ego.

You learn negative feelings such as anger, envy and resentment must be understood and redirected or they will suffocate the life out of you and poison the universe that surrounds you. You learn to admit when you are wrong and to building bridges instead of walls.

You learn to be thankful and to take comfort in many of the simple things we take for granted, things that millions of people upon the earth can only dream about: a full refrigerator, clean running water, a soft warm bed, a long hot shower.

Slowly, you begin to take responsibility for yourself by yourself and you to make yourself a promise to never betray yourself and to never ever settle for less than your heart’s desire.And you hang a wind chime outside your window so you can listen to the wind. And you make it a point to keep smiling, to keep trusting, and to stay open to every wonderful possibility.

Finally, with courage in your heart and with faith by your side you take a stand, you take a deep breath and you begin to design the life you want to live as best as you can.

Several years ago, I had a man seeking asparagus for a friend who had cancer. He gave me a photocopied copy of an article, entitled, `Asparagus for cancer' printed in Cancer News Journal, December 1979.

I will share it here, just as it was shared with me: 'I am a biochemist, and have specialized in the relation of diet to health for over 50 years. Several years ago, I learned of the discovery of Richard R. Vensal, D.D.S. that asparagus might cure cancer.

Since then, I have worked with him on his project. We have accumulated a number of favourable case histories.

Here are a few examples:

Case No. 1

A man with an almost hopeless case of Hodgkin's disease (cancer of the lymph glands) who was completely incapacitated. Within 1 year of starting the asparagus therapy, his doctors were unable to detect any signs of cancer, and he was back on a schedule of strenuous exercise.

Case No. 2

A successful businessman 68 years old who suffered from cancer of the bladder for 16 years. After years of medical treatments, including radiation without improvement, he went on asparagus. Within 3 months, examinations revealed that his bladder tumor had disappeared and that his kidneys were normal.

Case No. 3

A man who had lung cancer. On March 5th 1971, he was put on the operating table where they found lung cancer so widely spread that it was inoperable. The surgeon sewed him up and declared his case hopeless.
On April 5th he heard about the asparagus therapy and immediately started taking it. By August, x-ray pictures revealed that all signs of the cancer had disappeared. He is back at his regular business routine.

Case No. 4

A woman who was troubled for a number of years with skin cancer. She finally developed different skin cancers which were diagnosed by asking specialist as advanced. Within 3 months after starting on asparagus, her skin specialist said that her skin looked fine and no more skin lesions.

This woman reported that the asparagus therapy also cured her kidney disease, which started in 1949. She had over 10 operations for kidney stones, and was receiving government disability payments for an inoperable, terminal, kidney condition. She attributes the cure of this kidney trouble entirely to the asparagus.

I was not surprised at this result, as `The elements of Materia Medica', edited in 1854 by a Professor at the University of Pennsylvania, stated that asparagus was used as a popular remedy for kidney stones.

He even referred to experiments, in 1739, on the power of asparagus in dissolving stones.

We would have other case histories but the medical establishment has interfered with our obtaining some of the records. I am therefore appealing to readers to spread this good news and help us to gather a large number of case histories that will overwhelm the medical skeptics about this unbelievably simple and natural remedy.

For the treatment, asparagus should be cooked before using, and therefore canned asparagus is just as good as fresh.

I have corresponded with the two leading canners of asparagus, Giant Giant and Stokely, and I am satisfied that these brands contain no pesticides or preservatives.

PROCEDURE:

1) Place the cooked asparagus in a blender and liquefy to make a puree, and store in the refrigerator.

2) Give the patient 4 full tablespoons twice daily, morning and evening. Patients usually show some improvement in from 2-4 weeks. It can be diluted with water and used as a cold or hot drink.
This suggested dosage is based on present experience, but certainly larger amounts can do no harm and may be needed in some cases.

As a biochemist I am convinced of the old saying that `what cures can prevent'. Based on this theory, my wife and I have been using asparagus puree as a beverage with our meals.

We take 2 tablespoons diluted in water to suit our taste with breakfast and with dinner. I take mine hot and my wife prefers hers cold.

For years we have made it a practice to have blood surveys taken as part of our regular checkups.

The last blood survey, taken by a medical doctor who specializes in the nutritional approach to health, showed substantial improvements in all categories over the last one, and we can attribute these improvements to nothing but the asparagus drink.......

As a biochemist, I have made an extensive study of all aspects of cancer, and all of the proposed cures. As a result, I am convinced that asparagus fits in better with the latest theories about cancer.

Asparagus contains a good supply of protein called histones, which are believed to be active in controlling cell growth.

For that reason, I believe asparagus can be said to contain a substance that I call cell growth normalizer. That accounts for its action on cancer and inacting as a general body tonic. In any event, regardless of theory, asparagus used as we suggest, is a harmless substance.

The FDA cannot prevent you from using it and it may do you much good. It has been reported by the US National Cancer Institute, that asparagus is the highest tested food containing glutathione, which is considered one of the body's most potent anticarcinogens and antioxidants.

A visit to Raffles Marina

Met up with a good buddy today so we went to Raffles Marina for lunch..
Think the last time i went was for a CNY lunch with my previous company. That was like a few years ago liao!

It's a nice place..Very relaxing..quite cozy too!!
The food is not bad, quite affordable!!
We had fish & chips & chicken cutlet..

The down point is, it's located near the Tuas Checkpoint..
So it's better to have your own vehicle if not you've have to take bus 192/193 to reach there..

It's also the place where yatches are parked..
The scenery is quite nice!

On our way back, we drove past the area where Mediacorp used to film some of her famous TV serials.. Though it's out-of-bounds, but managed to take a photo of it through the gates.

It looks cool! Hopefully, in future, i'll have a chance to visit the compound to take plenty of shots and pretend that I was born in those era..wahaha...

Although, the place is out-of-bounds, something tried to get into it!! Too bad, it's stomach is too big to get through...

井底之蛙

白天黑夜，只能透过井口的diameter来分辨。
偶尔的鸟儿、蝴蝶为井口带来惊喜。
世界就那么大，不知外界的喜怒哀乐。
也不知外界的华丽、黯淡。
所以，对外在的了解就只有所看的见的井口。

我似乎就像井底蛙一样。
我虽然活在科技发达的世界里，但似乎对于人与人之间的相处之道的了解，就那么多而已。
今天与家人一起聊到的话题，就凸显了，我似乎跟很多人的想法不同。
虽然这并非件坏事，但我总有办法让人们在与我交谈时觉得pissed off。哈哈。。

但愿，了解了过后，今后就能be more mindful with my words，能将不愉快降到几乎0:-)
但愿，井底蛙能渐渐的跳出井口的束缚，渐渐看见更宽阔、更遥远的世界。
哪怕也意味着，可能必须面对不如意的事情，用另一个方式看，这也是人生的另一种考验吧～！：-）

终于看完了《爱就宅一起》！
跟很多童话故事一样，是happy ending los!!keke...
很感动。。很简单的把爱的力量解释的透彻。。
相爱的人不许要用太多的言语去知道对方在想什么。。
一个眼神，一个举动，和一颗爱人的心，就能了解了。。
这是那么简单却又那么遥不可及。。
如何在茫茫人海中找寻这样的一个他（她）呢？

这也告诉了我们，不要over rely on the words he/she says。。
有时候，从嘴里说出来的话，may not be what he/she truly means。。
用心来判断对方的话吧。。

但愿，属于我的“莊俊男”能在我有限之年出现在我的生命中。。
让这个有点“宅”的我也能沉浸在有如童话般的浪漫，甜蜜的二人世界。。
哈哈。。

或许大家都认为我中《爱就宅一起》的“毒”太深了吧。。

This is my favourite 偶像剧 now!! I don't usually watch 偶像剧 de, but i really loved this show wor!! It's really quite torturing to wait for the next episode every week. sob sob..

This 偶像剧 full of love of many forms: The love between 默默&Mars, friendship between Mars & 一只，sisterly love between 默默&楚楚，motherly love between Mars&莊妈妈...

I'm very touched by the love between 默默& Mars. So sweet, very touching yet a bit sad... Not good with words, so can't describe.. But this is the kind of love which I hope to get.:-)

Do catch it if u have not done so...watch the GTV version..CTV's version has quite a few scenes being cut off..:-) Enjoy!! It's the final 2 episodes on Channel U this coming sat!! (Luckily I've youtube.com...coz i gotta work over the weekends!I can still catch it after work..keke)

My Water Theory

It's a fruitful day for me. :-)
Went to SPBS 44th Council Investiture which was held in a classmate in block T17.
Bhante CK (a former fellow clubmate in SPBS) was also there to grace the event.
It was through him that i got to know about this event and I'm real grateful for that. :-)

It reminds me of the days when I was in SP.
SPBS clubroom was like my home in SP.
It's where i've spent most of my time after lessons.
It's a cozy place where we learnt the dharma together and have fun together.

During the investiture, enriching short talks were given by venerables.
The talks help to strengthen some of the thinking i used to have and also made me see some of the mistakes I've made in the past.
Chats with the alumni also triggered my thinking cap.
And water is used as an analogy.

So the following was concluded(by me):
Water is beneficial to mankind.
Although sometimes we may need to add in sugar to attract people to drink it so that they'll enjoy the benefits of the water, it may not be a bad thing.
Though the initial intention of drinking sweeten water was not genuine, but the important thing is people enjoy the benefits of the water.
For the benefits of water will not be alter when there's addition of sugar. The benefits can only be changed when the water compostition itself is altered.
If you want enjoy the benefits of water at it's purest, we need to purify it.
Removing any seen & unseen residue which may exist before drinking it down.

Frankly speaking, i don't know if my conclusion was purely from me or because i've heard it elsewhere, but the thing is: it's something worth thinking about.

Hope that also triggers your thinking cap.

Jewellery making is a great hobby, its relaxing, engrossing and
creative.
Why not come along and learn how to make all your own personalised
jewellery and presents.

Learn all about beads, findings, tools, wire and basic bead stringing.
String beads together, to make a necklace or bracelet, and crimps to
attach
the findings (clasps etc.)

What you will learn in this course:
* Introduction to basic tools & equipment for jewellery
making
* Make wire wrap loops, a useful skill for linking beads
together
* Attaching findings and making earrings
* Stringing a bracelet and make wire spiral
* Cutting & connecting chains to make fancy design
Projects done in class: (3 items)
1. 1 pair modern and sassy looking earrings (Swarovski
Crystals,
Pearl & Teardrops)
2. Duo Tone Copper & Silver Bracelet (Swarovski Pearls &
Crystals)
3. Modern Vintage Necklace (combining Swarovski Crystal &
Pearls
with Chain)
